So many weekends have come and gone in India, and over time, I started to notice a few things.
In Australia, when the weekend comes, people go out for beers, catch up with friends, go to the races.
It’s about letting off steam.
But here in India, weekends look completely different.
People spend them visiting ashrams, going on two-day pilgrimages.
They come in groups, friends, families, people of all ages.
There’s something sacred about it.
It made me reflect on how we mark time.
In some places, weekends are for escape.
In others, they’re for returning.
To yourself.
To something deeper.
To God.
