You Are Already That? Maybe Not Yet.

For most people who begin to wake up, really wake up to the illusion of the world, something shifts. They realise there is a path. A significant journey. And they begin walking it with varying levels of commitment.
My own path was like a rollercoaster. Ten steps forward, twenty steps back. Sometimes I felt like I’d done so much… and gotten nowhere. But that’s the test. That’s the path.
I wanted to give up more than once. For years I couldn’t figure out where I was meant to be or what I was meant to do. But I kept going. I enjoyed the learning. I explored hidden knowledge, spiritual traditions, philosophies. Things most people don’t even know exist, hidden in plain sight.
Then I came across Neo-Advaita.
It’s everywhere now. And to the beginner, it looks promising. You turn up at a Satsang. You sit in silence with others. Someone speaks, answers questions from a crowd.
You’re told there’s nothing to do, nowhere to go. You don’t need a path. You’re already That.
And you might keep doing this for years. You go to retreats. You feel calm. You have moments. But then… nothing really changes.
Why?
You may have fallen into the trap.
Because there is a genuine spiritual path.
One that requires commitment. Depth. Sincerity.
One that will challenge you, strip you, shape you.
There are dangerous ideas out there, shared by people who claim to be in truth but aren’t. What fucking nonsense. Real truth rarely looks how you expect. And it’s rarely convenient.
Beware of shortcuts. Beware of quick fixes.
There are people misrepresenting themselves waiting for the open, perhaps naive seeker. The one who hasn’t yet done the work.
The one who trusts too easily.
The one who falls into something they believe is truth… but isn’t.
Use discernment. If you’re unsure about a path, a guru, a teaching, research. Sit with it. Meditate on it. Ask God for guidance. Let the answer come.
And whatever you do, don’t give your power away too easily.
Ramana Maharshi came to me nine years ago subtly. Quietly. And it took all nine of those years for Him to reveal Himself. I asked, sincerely, in the shrine hall of His ashram… and He revealed it was Him. But still, I needed confirmation. I wouldn’t give myself over completely without it.
And it came through a swami. Sri Siva Jyothi. He said:
That moment confirmed everything. I surrendered. I accepted it. I had a Guru.
Along the way, I’d read books from different teachers. Walked different paths. Searched. But in time, it all became clear.
Know your nature. There’s a clue in that. And yes, everyone’s path is different but they all lead to the same point:
Nothing.
It is your sincerity, your inner honesty that takes you to God. That sincerity will align you with the right Guru. If you’re not sincere with yourself… you can get lost. Caught in illusions. Years lost to paths and teachers that aren’t real.
You might find yourself disillusioned, heartbroken by a teacher or teaching you thought was the real deal.
Pay attention. Heed the warning.
And if you’re ever unsure — just ask.
Ask the higher power, sincerely. With all your heart.
The answer will come.
