Before I left for Darwin, I spent three months working at a local council. While I was there, I made a new friend, G. As soon as we met at a work event, we pretty much clicked straight away.

Someone was going on leave for a month, and my boss asked me to team up with G for a few days to learn the ropes so I could step into that person’s role. I said no worries.

The time came around quickly, and soon we were out on the road together. While we were working, G started asking a few deeper questions about my life. Eventually, the conversation moved into my awakening at 23. I started throwing things at him stuff most people might struggle to relate to and he just stood up and stared at me.

I looked at him and he said he couldn’t believe we were having this exchange.

It turned out he was deeply into spirituality too. He was 54 at the time but had spent time in India and also spent six months living at Sri Chinmoy’s spiritual hub in Queens, New York. He’d lived under the guidance of Chinmoy, who was still alive at the time. I was fascinated.

I really enjoyed that conversation. Over the next few years, we became good friends.

G had some fascinating stories. One that really stood out was from his first trip to India. He was 19, and the trip wasn’t even meant to be his. His sister had planned to go with her partner, but they broke up so she offered him the ticket instead. He took it.

They went to Delhi, and one day while walking down the street, he happened to glance down a lane and saw a sadhu standing there. The sadhu motioned for G to come over, so he did.

The sadhu took his hand, turned it over, and read his palm.

G told me that this sadhu laid out his whole life with shocking accuracy, when he’d marry, how many relationships he’d have before that, what he’d do with his life. Everything. He even told him the day he’d die.

G said he preferred to keep that last part private. I understood.

He told me that everything the sadhu predicted had come true.

G was also a gifted clairvoyant and psychic. He’d often give me a heads-up on things, and he was usually spot-on. More to come on that later.

It was an interesting connection. We were both Greek, and we seemed to speak the same language, spiritually and culturally. He kept a small circle and didn’t associate with many people. He even invited me to his son’s 18th birthday, and I went and had a great night just before I left Australia in November 2024.

You never know who you're going to meet as the path unfolds.
